At Online Alarm Kur, we respect your privacy, and this Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how we handle information about you when you use the website at onlinealarmkur.com (the "Site"), the Online Alarm Kur browser extensions (the "Extensions"), and the Online Alarm Kur mobile application (the "App"), together the "Services".
1. Our Services and Scope of this Policy
Online Alarm Kur is a collection of free, browser-based time tools. The Site includes an alarm clock, an online clock, a world clock, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, event countdowns, and calculators such as a date calculator and an age calculator, among other tools. We also offer the Extensions and the App.
How much personal data we process, if any, depends on how you use the Services, whether as a Site visitor, an Extension user, or an App user. Those roles are described in Section 4, and the practices for each follow below.
This Policy describes the source and types of personal data we process, why we process it, our legal bases, who we share it with and in what circumstances, how long we keep it, and your rights and choices. It covers the Services only. It does not cover the independent processing carried out by third parties who have their own relationship with you, such as our advertising partner, the app store, or any external site you reach through a link or an advertisement; those parties act as controllers in their own right, under their own privacy notices, and we identify them in Sections 5, 7 and 8.
2. Data Controller and Applicable Law
The data controller responsible for your personal data is:
- Legal Identity: Burak Ozdemir, self-employed (autónomo) established in Spain
- Country of Establishment: Spain
- Business Address: Calle Puerto 14, 5th floor, 29016, Málaga, Spain
- E-mail: burak {@} onlinealarmkur (.) com (.) tr
We are established in Spain, so our processing of your personal data is governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the "GDPR") under its Article 3(1) and by Spain's Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (the "LOPDGDD"). The UK GDPR applies to users in the United Kingdom.
Our lead supervisory authority is the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, the "AEPD"), at aepd.es. If you are in the EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your own country. If you are in the United Kingdom, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
3. Acknowledgment of the Policy
This Policy informs you of our data practices. Using the Services does not by itself amount to consent to any processing that requires your consent under applicable law. Where we rely on consent, we ask for it separately, and you are free to decline.
If you do not agree with the practices described here, please do not use the Services.
4. Data Subjects and How You Use the Services
What we process, if anything, depends on how you use the Services.
Site Visitors
You can use all the tools on the Site without an account. Your alarms, timers, saved preferences, and results are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to us. Because we have no server-side access to this local data, our processing for visitors is limited to server logs kept for security and cookieless, aggregate analytics, plus advertising and consent data where you consent, as described in Section 5.
Extension Users
The Extensions run locally in your browser and store your alarms and timers on your device. We do not receive, see, or store them. The permissions the Extensions request exist only so they can function, for example, to show notifications. We do not collect any personal data through the Extensions.
App Users
The App runs on your device and does not require an account. Your inputs and results are stored on your device. In the age calculator, any photo you select is read from your device and is not uploaded to or stored by us. The App does not transmit personal data to us, with the exception described in Section 5 (the date calculator's country selection sent to our holiday service to look up public holidays). The app store (for example, Apple) may collect standard diagnostic or crash information under its own terms; that processing is the app store's, not ours.
Children
The Services are not directed at children under thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child under that age. Because there are no accounts, we do not ask for or hold children's data in the ordinary course. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at burak {@} onlinealarmkur (.) com (.) tr, and we will delete it promptly.
5. Sources, Types, Purposes, and Legal Bases of Processing
We process personal data in different ways depending on how you use the Site. For each activity below, we give the source and type of data, why we process it, and our legal bases.
Technical Server Logs (Site)
When any device connects to the Site, our server automatically records technical information in log files, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and the date and time of the request.
We process these logs to keep the Site secure and stable, to detect and prevent attacks and abuse, and to troubleshoot faults. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security and integrity of the Services. These logs are held on our hosting infrastructure, are not used for marketing or analytics, and are deleted automatically after no more than three (3) months.
Content You Create (Local Storage)
Your alarms, timers, saved cities, settings, and results, whether on the Site, in the Extensions, or in the App, are stored locally on your device. This data stays on your device, we cannot access it, and it is not transmitted to us. We do not process it as a controller, and you can delete it any time by clearing your browser data or removing it in the App.
Date Calculator
When you select a country in the date calculator (on the Site or in the App) so it can include that country's official public holidays in a calculation, the Site or App sends that country selection to our holiday service at api.onlinealarmkur.com, which returns the relevant holiday dates. This service runs on the infrastructure of Cloudflare, our security and delivery provider (see Sections 7 and 9), so the request, like any web request, carries your device's IP address, which is processed only to deliver the response. We do not send your name or any account data, because there is no account, and beyond Cloudflare acting as our processor, your IP address is not shared with anyone for this feature. The holiday dates are compiled in advance from public holiday datasets and stored with the service, so answering your request involves no query to any external source, and your IP address or identity is never sent to one. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the calculation feature you asked for.
Advertising
The Site is supported by advertising provided, served, and controlled by our advertising partner, Publisher Collective (formerly Snigel), an authorized Google partner, which also provides the consent management platform used on the Site. Where advertising uses cookies or similar identifiers, it may process online identifiers, including cookie IDs, device identifiers, and IP addresses, to display ads, prevent ad fraud, cap how often you see an ad, and, if you agree, personalize ads. Our legal basis is your consent. This processing happens only if you consent through the Site, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the consent controls on the Site. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal. Publisher Collective acts as a controller, or joint controller with its partners, for the advertising data it processes; see its privacy notice. The Extensions and the App do not show this advertising.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand overall Site traffic. The provider operates it without cookies and does not track individual users across sites. To the extent any identifier, such as an IP address, is handled momentarily to produce aggregate statistics, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the Site, and the statistics we retain are aggregate and do not identify you.
Feedback
If you contact us through a feedback form or by email, we process your message and contact details to read and respond. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling inquiries and improving the Services.
6. Cookies
We use very few cookies of our own. Much of what the Services store is not a tracking cookie at all; it is local storage that keeps your own settings, such as your alarm, on your device. When the Site shows advertising, our advertising partner and its providers also set cookies, but only after you consent. The categories below explain what is set and why.
You can review the full, current list and change or withdraw your choices at any time through the consent controls on the Site.
Our Own Cookies
We do not set first-party cookies for tracking or analytics. Where we need to remember a strictly necessary choice, we use the minimum browser storage required for that function, listed below. These do not require consent.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Party | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| alarm-hours, alarm-minutes, alarm-sound, alarm-alarm-title, alarm-storage | Keep your own alarm settings (time, sound, label, saved alarms) on your device | Strictly necessary | First party | Until you clear them |
| loglevel | Technical logging setting used by the Site's scripts | Strictly necessary | First party | Persistent |
| __cf_bm | Helps tell humans from bots to keep the advertising service secure; collects no personal data | Strictly necessary | Third party (Cloudflare) | Up to 1 hour |
Third-Party Cookies
Set by our advertising partner, Publisher Collective (formerly Snigel), and its advertising and identity partners, to deliver and measure advertising and to recognize a browser across ad requests. These are set only after you consent through the Site, and only on the Site. Examples include: _awl, _sharedID (and _sharedID_cst, _sharedID_last), _unifiedId (and _unifiedId_cst, _unifiedId_last, _unifiedId_exp), idw-fe-id, idw-session-id, idw-page-count, idw-total-page-count, anon-sl (and anon-sl-group-session), 3pc_test, and similar identifiers set by the advertising provider. Their durations range from the length of your session up to about one year. Because this set changes as advertising partners change, the complete and current list, with each cookie's provider and duration, is available in the consent controls on the Site. Our legal basis is your consent.
The Extensions and the App do not show this advertising and do not set advertising cookies. They store your data only in the local device storage needed for them to function.
7. Third-Party Recipients
To run the Services, we work with the providers below. Our hosting and security providers act as our processors; our advertising partner and the app store act as controllers in their own right for their part of the processing, under their own privacy policies.
DigitalOcean (Hosting)
DigitalOcean provides the hosting infrastructure the Site runs on and processes server logs (IP address and technical data). The servers we use are located in the Netherlands, within the EEA. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest. For details on how DigitalOcean handles data, please refer to DigitalOcean's privacy policy.
Cloudflare (Security and Delivery)
Cloudflare helps protect the Site from malicious activity and speeds up content delivery, processing your IP address and technical device data to distinguish real human visitors from malicious bots or automated attacks. Cloudflare is a US-based service, and data may be processed in the United States. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security and integrity of the Service. Cloudflare sets its own retention periods for this data; please refer to Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
Publisher Collective (Advertising)
We use Publisher Collective to serve advertisements. It uses cookies and similar identifiers and processes online identifiers, including cookie IDs, device identifiers, and IP addresses, to display ads, prevent ad fraud, and cap how often you see a given ad and, if you agree, to personalize ads based on your browsing. The legal basis for processing is your consent. This happens only if you consent through the Site. For details on how Publisher Collective handles this data, please refer to their own privacy policy.
Consent Management: We use their integrated CMP (Consent Management Platform). You can customize your ad preferences or revoke consent at any time through the Site. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the processing carried out before the withdrawal, and after withdrawal it will no longer use your data for personalized advertising on this Site.
App Store
Where you download the App, the app store (for example, Apple) processes your purchase and may collect standard diagnostic information under its own terms, as its own controller.
8. Sharing of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share personal data only in the following circumstances:
- Our hosting provider, DigitalOcean, stores and processes server logs (including IP addresses and technical data) to run the infrastructure the Site depends on. Our security and delivery provider, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses and technical device data to protect the Site against malicious traffic. Both act as our processors, and our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Services.
- If you consent to advertising, Publisher Collective, our advertising partner, processes advertising and consent data to serve and measure ads, as described in Section 5. This happens only if you consent through the consent controls on the Site. Publisher Collective acts as a controller, or joint controller with its partners, for that processing.
- Where you download the App, the app store (for example, Apple) processes your download and any in-app purchase and may collect standard diagnostic information, as its own controller under its own terms.
- Our authorized contractors or developers may access technical logs where necessary to investigate security threats or resolve critical faults on the basis of our legitimate interest. All such parties are bound by confidentiality obligations and act only on our instructions.
- If we go through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal data we hold may be among the assets transferred. We will tell you through the Services or by other appropriate means before it takes effect, and we will require the acquiring party to honor this Policy or to give you notice and choices consistent with it.
- We may disclose personal data to courts, law enforcement, or public or government authorities where required by a lawful request, court order, or legal process on the basis of compliance with a legal obligation. Where we are legally able to, we will try to notify you before disclosing.
- We may use and disclose personal data where necessary to protect the security, integrity, and rights of the Services, our users, or the public, and to enforce our Terms of Service, on the basis of our legitimate interest.
9. International Transfers
Our hosting provider DigitalOcean hosts the Site in the Netherlands, within the EEA, so server logs are stored in the EEA. Our security and delivery provider Cloudflare is a US-based service, and the data it processes, including IP addresses, may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
For users in the EEA and the UK, where personal data is transferred to the United States, we do so on the basis of the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) under GDPR Art. 46, and, where a provider is certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for information about the safeguards that apply, using the contact details in Section 16.
10. Data Retention
- Technical server logs (IP addresses and technical data) are retained for no more than 3 (three) months, then deleted automatically using logrotate technology on DigitalOcean's infrastructure.
- Content you create (alarms, timers, settings, results on the Site, in the Extensions, or in the App) is stored only on your device. We set no retention period because we do not hold it; it stays on your device until you delete it or clear your browser storage.
- Date calculator requests: the country selection is processed by our holiday service at api.onlinealarmkur.com only to answer your request. We keep no server logs of these requests; the technical data Cloudflare processes to deliver the response is subject to Cloudflare's own retention periods (see Section 7). We do not build an identifiable profile from it.
- Analytics: Our Ahrefs statistics are aggregated and contain no personal data, and we may keep them for historical traffic analysis.
- Feedback correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any follow-up, and for no more than six (6) months.
11. Security
We use organizational, technical, and administrative measures designed to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, or misuse. We work with providers such as Cloudflare to defend the Services against denial-of-service attacks, malicious bots, and unauthorized access. Because most of what you do stays on your device, the security of that local data depends on the security of your own device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Your Data Protection Rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in the applicable law, you have the following rights.
- Your right to access: You have the right to obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal data and, if so, to receive a copy with information about categories, purposes, retention, and recipients.
- Your right to rectification: You have the right to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or completed.
- Your right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): You have the right to have your personal data deleted in certain circumstances, such as where it is no longer needed or where you withdraw the consent it relied on. We may be unable to comply fully where retention is required by applicable law or where a retention period in Section 10 has not yet expired.
- Your right to restriction of processing: You have the right to ask us to limit our processing in certain situations, such as where you contest the accuracy of the data or object to our processing on legitimate-interest grounds.
- Your right to data portability: For the data you have provided that we process by automated means on the basis of consent or contract, you have the right to receive it in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
- Your right to object to processing: You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interest on grounds relating to your particular situation.
- Your right to withdraw consent: Where we rely on your consent, including consent to personalized advertising through Publisher Collective, you have the right to withdraw it at any time through the consent controls on the Site. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.
- Your right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making: We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
- Your right to lodge a complaint: If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also complain to a supervisory authority. As the controller's establishment is in Spain, the lead supervisory authority under GDPR is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD), reachable at aepd.es. EEA users may also complain to the data protection authority of their own country, and UK users to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
13. Exercising Your Rights
We handle rights requests in line with the law that applies to you. Under the GDPR, we respond without undue delay and within one (1) month of receipt, extendable by a further two (2) months for complex or numerous requests, in which case we tell you within the first month. If a request is refused, you will be notified of the grounds for refusal within the applicable response period.
You can exercise your rights by contacting us at burak {@} onlinealarmkur (.) com (.) tr. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act so that we do not disclose your data to someone else. Requests are free of charge. Where a request is manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, we may charge a reasonable fee or decline to act, as the applicable law allows, and we will explain that decision.
14. Updates to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. When we do, we post the revised version and update the "last updated" date at the top.
For minor changes that do not materially affect your rights or the way we process your data, posting an updated Policy constitutes sufficient notice. For material changes, including changes to the categories of data we collect, the purposes, the legal bases, the recipients, or your rights, we will give reasonable advance notice through the Services before the change takes effect. Where the change involves processing that requires your consent, we will ask for that consent separately rather than treating your continued use as agreement.
Continued use of the Services after an update means you are aware of the current Policy. It does not, by itself, amount to consent to any processing that the law says requires your separate consent.
15. Language
The Turkish version of this document is the original and governing text as provided in Turkish. The English version is provided on the basis of the Turkish original, and the versions in all other languages are provided on the basis of the English version; in the event of a conflict among the languages other than Turkish, the English version prevails. In the event of a conflict between the Turkish version and a version in another language, the version in the language you actually used when carrying out the relevant action prevails. If you are a consumer, any precedence your country's mandatory law gives to the version in your own language is preserved in any case.
16. Contact Information
If you have questions or complaints about this Policy, or you wish to exercise your rights, please contact us in writing at burak {@} onlinealarmkur (.) com (.) tr.
