What Is the Age Calculator?

How to Calculate Age Manually
To determine a person's age without a calculator, you need the birth year and current year. However, calculating exact chronological age requires accounting for months and days. Most Western countries use this method to determine current age:
- Note today's date (day, month, year)
- Note the date of birth (day, month, year)
- Subtract the birth year from the current year
- If the current month is before the birth month, or if it's the same month but the current day is before the birth date, subtract 1 from the result
- The result is the age in years
Note that age is counted differently in various cultures. Some Asian countries traditionally consider a baby to be 1 year old at birth rather than 0. Leap years can also affect calculations. Therefore, to compute exact age, it's more practical to use this age calculator.
